Registration for Fall Ball is open! ---->

The Brentsville Baseball League (BBL) - formerly BDYB - is planning to have a fall season, and you can register via the "Register Now" button to the right. Everyone will need to register, even those of you who registered for spring and are carrying the registration fees over to the fall... There are detailed instructions on the registration page of how to bypass the payment portion if you already paid for spring and chose to carry over rather than donate or receive a refund.

EARLY BIRD SPECIAL

NOW THROUGH FATHER'S DAY (JUNE 21)

10% DISCOUNT

A follow-up email will be issued in the coming weeks with details on practice start dates, etc. We will likely begin the season somtime in August - more to come.

Just like most things in life, baseball is going to be a little bit different for a while in response to COVID-19.

A few things you need to know:

1. Registation is open, and we intend to have a fall season... but if there are events that lead to the Prince William County Parks being closed down again, or the board decides to cancel for any health related concerns, we will be forced to cancel. If we have to cancel the season before games begin, you will be issued a refund.  If the season is cut short after games begin, no refunds will be issued. Again, we are hopeful to have a full season, but want you to know upfront the contingency.

2. There will be no sharing of equipment. Players will need to have their own personal baseball helmet. There are some affordable options at Dick's sporting goods including this one for $19.99. https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/adidas-osfm-matte-triple-stripe-batting-helmet-15adiumttblcktrplbth/15adiumttblcktrplbth?color=Black. Catchers will need to have their own gear as well (no catcher in t-ball). Coaches will be issued a bucket of baseballs for practices and games, but personal gear will need to go unshared. Of course, it is parental discretion if sibings on the same team share bats/equipment

3. You may be required to sign a form or waiver prior to the season stating that your family is participating in the fall season at your own risk of COVID-19 (or some similar language.)

Many people are trying to decide how to enter back into various activities during this weird time. We at BBL have decided it best to at least give you the opportunity to play. There will be some social distancing measures in place at the fields but I urge each family to make their own decision based on what they feel is best for them, given the information we have.

Looking forward to getting back on the diamond!

Jeremy Jenkins, BBL President

Why Play at Brentsville Baseball League?

Baseball is one of the greatest team sports.  It promises the smell of grass, the feel of the wind rushing by as you run to base, and the joy of cheering on your teammates.  At BBL we recognize that not every baseball player will be able to play in the major league.  We do believe, however, that all players have the same chance to develop a love and understanding for the game of baseball that can be passed-down for generations.  At BBL we believe that baseball is more than just a team sport, we believe it is a family sport.  At BBL our primary goal is not limited to just perfecting a baseball player’s skill, it also includes providing the greatest possible atmosphere to foster the development of being a good teammate and having a successful attitude.  To effectuate this, BBL implements a specific player development strategy that includes teaching age-appropriate skills through organized, fun, and challenging practices, open line-up batting, and, of course, plenty of family involvement!

What parents are saying about our League:

"This was our son's first experience with baseball. We could not be more thrilled with the phenomenal Pirate's coaches! Our son learned so much from them and had a great time - too. All of the parents and players on the team were very kind and friendly, The family atmosphere in this league is a breath of fresh air! We couldn't have asked for a better experience! "

"Can only speak for Coaches Martin - Bassett - and Buscemi - whom I personally observed with the children, they were amazing! Thanks for another great season with BDYB; we'll be back in the fall! "

" We could not have asked for a better coaching team with  Ward - Bauer and  Warren. We absolutely loved their commitment - knowledge - professionalism and love of the game that they shared with our kids. They connected with each child's ability and focused on improving from there. Wheather we won or lost the kids were always smiling. Fantastic experience. "

" You run a really great program and I love the focus on developing all the players"

" Enjoyed it so much...looking forward to playing again in the Fall! Already registered!"
